The Aam Admi Party and its leader Arvind Kejiral have charted a political course that can only lead to unrest and political anarchy. The latest stunt of the team is seeking a referendum on full statehood for Delhi. Imagine what will happen to our national capital if it is granted full statehood and the government is under the hands of Kejriwal and his team. There will be chaos all around and Delhi would become a forbidden city.
The demand of statehood is not to do anything good to the people of Delhi. On the contrary, he wants to take control of Delhi Police and Delhi Development Authority and with that all powers of the Centre to run Delhi. By proxy Kejriwal wants to rule Delhi. What if he is not the Prime Minister of India he wants to be the ruler of the capital by virtue of being chief minister of Delhi. He wants the country’s Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister to beg before him to guard and protect vital installations like Parliament House, South Block and North Block offices on the Raisina Hill besides Rashtrapati Bhavan.
He would enjoy playing pranks with central ministers depending on his personal likes and dislikes. One should not be surprised to see on Delhi roads that cavalcade of President of India and that of Prime Minister is halted by the Delhi Traffic Police (under control of Kejriwal) to get past the movement of Delhi Chief Minister first.
Given his taste, one should also not be surprised to find that the special branch of Delhi Police keeping a tab on Prime Minister and other Central Ministers and a strict vigil on his bête noir Lt. Governor Jung. In nut shell, Kejriwal is desperate to be ‘Prime Minister of Delhi’. Alas, he will be disappointed to learn that referendum has no place in the Constitution of India; it can only give Kejriwal to stage demonstration, something that he loves more than providing good governance.
